Belfast Peer Group is an informal group for artists by artists that will meet once a month to fill the void of the lack of critical engagement after higher education.
Organised by Brian Kielt and Brónach McGuinness, the group provides a platform for artists to discuss their work with their peers and like minded people, within the structure of an informal critique. Artists can sign up to present work – No more than 4 or 5 artists at any one meeting and artists can book a slot a few months in advance to get a time that best suits them (perhaps preceding an exhibition) – This way everyone attends all of the meetings but without the pressure of having to present or to have made fresh work each month. At the end there will be a bit of time to discuss any business or applications that artists might be undergoing and want a second opinion on.
The first BPG presentation will take place on the 18th August and will take place in the new resource room at Catalyst Arts from 5.30pm – 7pm.
